GREEK CUISINE

“… It’s impossible to simply prepare a delicious sauce; it should be created note by note,

going deep into every sound and intonation…”
Tika Tikassi

The dishes of the Greek cuisine are simple to prepare, colourful and flavoured. Due to the centuries-old history of Greece and its geographic position, the Greek cuisine absorbed the cooking traditions of many nations, in particular Arabic, Turkish and Italian, and therefore has a rich variety of dishes.

The Greek cuisine is healthy, unpretentious and uses the best of the food products: tempting olives, fruits and vegetables, freshly caught fish prepared on the best olive oil. The meat – usually lamb or pork – is stewed, baked or barbecued. Very important are the cheese sorts: the salty Feta is used in salads; Halloumi is often grilled; while Amari, the soft and mild cheese similar to Ricotta, is used in sweet and spicy dishes.

The unusual aroma of the Greek cuisine is achieved greatly due to the usage of rosemary, basil, parsley, coriander, oregano and mint.

We have borrowed the best traditions and recipes of this really marvellous cuisine and made them available at our bistro.

Souvlaki – the Greek barbecue – sounds quite simple, but is actually divinely delicious and unique. Tikassi has perfected the traditions of souvlaki preparation and offers you the best from the sunny land of Greece!
